Getting Ready for Sunday March 1st at The Crossing

Prepare

Worship on a Sunday starts before Sunday morning. That’s true not just for the band and the pastor and tech crew but for all of us. When you prepare ahead of time, you are getting yourself in the right frame of mind and heart. It gives you a chance to read the Bible passage in advance, see the song list, and get yourself ready. You can see some of the rationale here.

We’re taking a break from our sermon series in 1 Corinthians this week. Keith Simon will preach a sermon entitled, “God’s on a Mission. Don’t Get Left Behind” from Acts 1:8. In this verse, Jesus instructs his followers how they are to carry on his work. He tells them, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We’re singing “Made Alive” for the second time this week. It’s a rollicking song that expresses how God has taken us from death to life and given us a new identity through what Jesus has done at the cross. Take a look at the lyrics and listen to it before Sunday, if you can.

Here’s our song list for this Sunday (with links to lyrics and music)
