Getting Ready for Sunday Mar. 16th at The Crossing

On Fridays we post a guide for how to prepare for the upcoming Sunday service. It gives you a chance to read the Bible passage ahead of time, see the song list, and get your mind and heart ready. You can see some of the rationale here.

On Sunday we’re pausing in our series in Exodus to look at what God has been doing in our midst this past year. Keith Simon will preach “Praising God for All He’s Done” from Acts 21:17–20 and Psalm 111:1–4.

In Acts 21, Luke tells what happens when Paul arrives in Jerusalem to meet the believers there.

17 When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers and sisters received us warmly. 18 The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present. 19 Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 When they heard this, they praised God.

In Psalm 111, we are encouraged to praise God and discover more of who he is on the basis of what we’ve seen him do.

1 Praise the LORD.
I will extol the LORD with all my heart
    in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
2 Great are the works of the LORD;
    they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
    the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
