Racefield News: Prayers and Progress

News from Racefield School:

Nov 27th:

Thank you so much for your continued prayers. The KCPE exercise [national testing for 8th graders] ended successfully, we are now thanking God for the wonderful results. The results came out and we managed to score the highest 393 marks and the lowest 352 marks with a m/s of 375.13 [out of 500.] This was an excellent performance, we were ranked 2nd in our entire county, and position 1 in Mwingi large [area], thanks again for your prayers and the Crossing Church. Our son Mark was among them and he scored 388 marks out of 500, this will get him a good national school. Peter our 1st born will also be doing his 2nd year in college next year.
Kindly continue praying for us, because it has also been confirmed by our government that the new curriculum of education will start rolling from January next year which requires us to have the facility for the junior secondary school that is class 7, 8 , & 9. Failure to which the school will end at grade 6 and parents will b required to transfer their children to schools which can cater for those classes. It’s a big challenge to us among other needs but we keep trusting God.
The solar system and the computers are perfectly working, thank you so much for your partnership, love and concern towards this ministry, God bless you all.
Give our best regards to The Crossing Church.
Yours in the service of the little ones.

Donors from The Crossing helped provide matching funding for Racefield School to complete their computer lab in order to comply with national educational certification mandates. Thank God with us for his provision! Below is the letter we recently received thanking the church and sharing photos:

News From Racefield School in Kenya

Thanks to the generosity of donors from The Crossing, Racefield School has enlarged their solar system enabling them to install a computer classroom.

We are greatly encouraged by your love to move on. Thank you, to great people of God, Pastor Keith and the Entire Crossing Church and all our supporters may God richly bless you, we don’t know the better way to express it but our hearts are full filled with great joy and appreciation for your continued support to this ministry.

Lots of prayers and greetings from Racefield Family.

Wishing you God’s blessings.

For Racefield Children’s Ministry.

Racefield School is located outside Mwingi Town in rural Kenya where there is no electrical grid. Even so, last year the government of Kenya mandated that all schools must provide computer facilities and classes in order to keep their certification. But, the government provided no funding making their demands seem insurmountable.

Mission Spotlight: Racefield School in Kenya

The Crossing and Crossing Kids have partnered with Racefield School since 2006 when members of The Crossing living in Kenya began visiting and sharing resources with their ministry. Racefield School serves children in the Mwingi area of Kenya that are preschool through 8th grade. These children come from an area of Kenya where cyclic drought

Thank You Notes from Drought Stricken Kenya

The Crossing recently sent special food relief funds to our Kenya project partners. The drought and resulting famine in East Africa are making it terribly expensive for these partner ministries to keep the children fed. Here are the thank you notes they’ve sent.

From Racefield School:

God bless you so much, Crossing Church!

Surely you have all been used of God! The famine in Kenya has become so acute and unbearable, the food prices going very high!

Drought & Famine in Africa & Yemen

Pray for the more than 20 million people facing starvation in Africa and Yemen. Because of these regional food shortages, costs have doubled then tripled for our partner ministries in central Kenya.

The Crossing is sending funds for food relief to our partner ministries, especially to our partner church, New City Fellowship, and to the schools we support who feed and educate orphans and vulnerable children: Pistis School in Karen, Racefield School in Mwingi, Christ the Redeemer School in Ongata Rongai, and El Shaddai School in Mukuru.

Racefield School is in an area much more susceptible to drought. Your past assistance is making a difference even now. Funding provided by Crossing2Kenya and Crossing Kids in the past has helped Racefield School to have greater food security.

These measures include:
